Body washed ashore

CHENNAI: The body of a teenager was washed ashore along the Marina Beach early on Thursday.

According to police sources, Saddam Hussein (19) of Triplicane did not return home after he went to Mahabalipuram with his friends on August 15. His body was washed ashore behind the Gandhi statue on Thursday. It was shifted to the Government Royapettah Hospital for post-mortem.

Feared drowned

K. Prakash (18) of South Boag Road in T. Nagar who went to play in the Elliot’s Beach was feared drowned on Wednesday.

Police said that Prakash went to the beach to play cricket along with his friends. They entered the sea for a swim later. After sometime, Prakash was found missing.

The Shastri Nagar police are investigating.

Body found

The body of a middle-aged man was found in the Cooum near Basin Bridge junction on Thursday. Police said that the decomposed body of the unidentified man was shifted to the Stanley Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem. The Washermenpet police are investigating.
