Campaign to be launched in all engineering colleges Website to have tips from market leaders Thiruvananthapuram: Failure as an entrepreneur is not something unacceptable; it is only a learning phase for budding entrepreneurship, Union Minister of State for External Affairs Shashi Tharoor has said. Speaking after flagging off the ‘I am an Entrepreneur Campaign’ on the Technopark campus here on Friday, he urged Keralites to emulate Non-Resident Malayalis who had succeeded as businessmen. Dr. Tharoor lauded the efforts of the Technology Business Incubation unit at the Technopark in creating a fertile eco-system for budding entrepreneurship in the State. Sheela Thomas, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, presided over the inaugural session. Technopark CEO Mervin Alexander and Chief Financial Officer K.C. Chandrasekharan Nair were present. Initiated by Technopark-TBI in association with the Department of Science and Technology (DST) and the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), the ‘I am an Entrepreneur’ campaign is scheduled to visit all the engineering colleges and select arts and science colleges across the State. It seeks to identify and promote entrepreneurial talents in the State, especially among students in engineering colleges and business schools. The campaign is executed by the TechnoFIRST Magazine and sponsored by Aircel. It includes a motivational video which shares the experiences of some of the very successful entrepreneurs and visionaries in the State. The video provides information on entrepreneurship and business incubation. It also contains inspirational talks from noted personalities like Kris Gopalakrishnan and Dr. Tharoor. “The campaign will give the required motivation for students to adopt the entrepreneurial route,” Mr. Mervin Alexander said. www.iamanentrepreneur.in, a website dedicated to the campaign, will bring the latest updates about the campaign and tips and advices from market leaders.
