House burgled

CHENNAI: Burglars broke into a house in MGR Nagar on Friday night and decamped with 15 sovereigns of jewellery.

According to police sources, Arumugham (31) of Akila Street and his family members slept on the terrace of their house. When they came down early on Saturday, the door was open and jewellery kept in the almirah were missing.

The MGR Nagar police have registered a case.

Two motorcycle-borne youths snatched a seven-sovereign gold chain from a woman in Valasaravakkam on Fridayevening.

Police said J. Valarmathi (38) of MMDA Colony in Maduravoyal was returning home on a moped when the suspects who came from behind snatched her chain and sped away.
