Programme to be held from August 24 to 29 in Karimnagar district Party leaders to educate the need for formation of Telangana KARIMNAGAR: In order to strengthen the party from the grassroots level and revive the Telangana statehood movement, the Telangana Rashtra Samiti district unit has launched the ‘palle nidra’ programme in the district on Monday. TRS Legislative Council floor leader Naradasu Laxman Rao launched the programme from Chamanpalli village of Karimnagar mandal. He said that the programme would be held from August 24 to 29 in the district. TRS president K. Chandrashekar Rao would participate in the programme in Banda Lingapur village of Ibrahimpatnam mandal on August 28. He said that during their visit to the village, they would identify local problems and strive to solve them by taking it to the notice of the authorities concerned. If the problems were not solved, they would launch agitation programmes, he added. Babli projectBesides, the party leaders would also educate the need for the formation of Telangana statehood and explain about how the region was deprived of development since Independence and snatching away of natural resources, employment, water etc. He also said that they would also explain about how the government had remained silent in stopping the illegal Babli project, which proved detrimental to the interests of Telangana region. He said that the party would also distribute pamphlets to the villagers educating the need for the formation of separate Telangana State and intensification of the movement. He said that they would conduct ‘palle nidra’ programmes regularly for six days in a month and cover all the villages.
