THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Hi-tech reforms have been launched in the KTDC as part of a comprehensive modernisation drive. Cheriyan Philip, chairman of the KTDC said here today that the introduction of e-governance had made official decisions and activities efficient and transparent. The time-bound completion of five years’ backlog in auditing was an achievement of computerisation. It had been possible to solve financial irregularities because of the on the spot entering of revenue and expenditure in computer. The details of various hotels of the KTDC were available even in the mobile telephones of the chairman and the MD. The punching system had been introduced in the corporate office and major hotels of the KTDC. It had been possible to observe punctuality in those institutions because of it. Facilities like online booking were available with the renovation of the KTDC’s web site. Details of 30 hotels of the KTDC were available in the new website. Videos of scenes inside and outside the hotels and the rent of rooms were available in the web site, which is organised in the virtual walk through manner.
