Bangalore City XI posts win

Bangalore: Bangalore City XI defeated Combined Moffusil XI by seven wickets in the S.A. Srinivasan Trophy under-22 tournament match that concluded here on Sunday.

The scores: Combined Moffusil XI 156 in 51.3 overs (Abilash Mahendrakar 50, Balasubramanya 40, Md. Sarfraz Ashraf 27, Arjun Shetty five for 76, S. Vinodh three for 12) and 67 for nine decl. in 20.5 overs (B.C. Tarun Muthanna five for 16) lost to Bangalore City XI 182 in 63.2 overs (K. Goutham 57, Tejas Wagle 51, Md. Sarfaz Ashraf seven for 72) and 45 for three in 10.4 overs.

Moffusil XI 434 for five in 90 overs (Alok Deshpande 128 n.o., F. Domnic 81 n.o., Eshwar Prasad 72, Shishir Bhavani 57, J. Yogesh 53) drew with Bangalore Zone XI 424 for eight in 90 overs (Mir Kunian Abbas 88, S. Rohit 79, Sanjay Kumar 78, Vikas Raj Bhatt 44, Arjun Hoysala 42, K.V. Darshan 35).

Combined City XI 273 for six decl. in 77 overs (Stalin Hoover 100, S.S. Darshan 72, Abhijith 54, Dilip Sagar three for 46) drew with President’s XI 197 for two in 38.1 overs (Suraj Sampath 85, K.V. Bharath 80).

KPL teams hard at practice

With just a fortnight left for the commencement of the Karnataka Premier League (KPL) tournament, the teams are busy fine-tuning their practice ahead of the Twenty20 bash.

The Belgaavi Panthers, Mysore Maharajas and Malnad Gladiators trained at the KSCA (B) Ground as part of their preparatory phase here on Monday while Bangalore Brigadiers are busy training at the IAF Ground besides playing under lights at the Karnataka Institute of Cricket (KIOC) facility in Ulsoor. Meanwhile Mangalore United players are sweating it out at the NRA Palace Ground. The KPL will be held here from September 9 to 23.

National TT

The Paralympic Table Tennis Federation of India, under the auspices of the Paralympic Committee of India, will conduct a National championship at Sree Kanteerava Stadium here on August 25 and 26 for the physically challenged. About 120 players have confirmed their entries for the event which is being considered as a selection trial for the Asia -Oceania Championship at Amman and IWAS Games at Bangalore, both scheduled in October.
