50 in race for DUSU elections

NEW DELHI: The list of candidates nominated by various student outfits for the Delhi University Students’ Union elections scheduled for September 4 was declared on Tuesday.

The deadline for withdrawal of nominations is Thursday till 12 noon. The final list of candidates will be put up the same day by 4 p.m.

As many as 50 students, including 15 girls, are in the race for the post of DUSU president. Most of these students are from the Department of Buddhist Studies.

For the post of vice-president, 47 students have thrown their hats into the ring.

Fifty-six students will be contesting for the position of secretary, while 50 will fight it out for the post of joint secretary.

The list of these candidates is provisional subject to further detailed verification.
