Building temples in the present

BANGALORE: The Art, Resources and Teaching (ART) Trust and Bookport together bring an interesting event titled “Building Temples in the Present” by A. Srivathsan, architect, scholar, teacher and Deputy Editor at The Hindu. Part of series of three public lecture called “Design In Transition”, it looks at temples built in recent times, and “how our notions about them as a stable building type are challenged”.
“Building Temples in the Present” will be held here on Saturday, August 29 at the Tamil Sangam on Annaswamy Mudaliar Road opposite the Ulsoor Lake.
The event is a charity fundraiser and professionals attending the event will be charged Rs. 150. Students with valid identification will be charged Rs. 50 (including snacks and beverage).
A subscription rate of Rs. 300 for professionals and Rs.100 for students will be charged to those interested in attending all three lectures in the series. The entry fee is tax exempt and will go towards the support of the ART library.
