Corporate Cup matches in Vizag

VISAKHAPATNAM: Top players like Gautam Gambhir, Ishant Sharma, Munaf Patel, S. Sreesanth, Pragyan Ojha, Praveen Kumar, along with local stars Y. Venugopal Rao and Y. Gnaneswara Rao will be seen in action in the BCCI Sahara Corporate Ttrophy group league matches to be played at the ACA-VDCA stadium here from September 1 to 3.

BPCL, ONGC and MRF teams will play the league matches in their group here under floodlights. It will be for the first time that Vizagites will witness cricket matches under floodlights when the 50-overs-a-side day-night matches are played for three days.

The Visakhapatnam District Cricket Association (VDCA)has decided not to have gates for the matches. Entry is free from gate No. 3 while the upper block of the pavilion stand is reserved for those paying Rs. 100 for a ticket for all the three days.

This was decided after a meeting of the VDCA on Tuesday evening, its joint secretary JKM Raju informed on Wednesday.
