Accused escapes

One Rajendran (49) of Devadanam who was arrested by the Fort Police for possessing bottles of liquor manufactured in Puducherry reportedly escaped from the station early on Thursday morning. The accused was said to have made good his escape after taking permission for easing himself. Two head constables were held responsible and transferred to the Armed Reserve wing, police sources said.
