Gold jewellery stolen

TIRUCHI: Unidentified burglars gained entry into a godown of a mineral water dealer at Puthupaikar Street and reportedly decamped with 12 sovereigns gold jewellery kept in the drawer.

According to a complaint preferred by the dealer Muthukumar (38) with the Woraiyur police, the theft was noticed on Thursday morning. In a similar incident at the nearby East Puthupaikara Street, intruders reportedly stole three sovereigns gold jewellery from the house of Jayalakshmi. She had also noticed the theft at the break of dawn on Thursday. Woraiyur police have registered a case.
