Forest officer arrested on graft charge
HYDERABAD: Anti-corruption Bureau (ACB) on Saturday arrested Visakhapatnam district Forest Range Officer K. Nageswar Rao after they ‘caught’ him accepting a bribe of Rs.3,000 from the complainant for extending an official favour.
A press release issued by ACB here said Rao had demanded the amount for processing and forwarding the transport permit to the forest section officer, Gajuwaka, for transport of 44 teak logs from Gajuwaka to Artamuru village, in East Godavari district. The officials recovered the tainted cash from Rao, who is being produced before the Principal Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases, Visakhapatnam.
