Women asked to participate in nation-building activities

Get rid of inferiority complex, Arunadevi tells women trainees

4,000 candidates have received training at District Industrial Education and Training Centre

Shimoga: Director of Jana Shikshana Samsthe S.Y. Arunadevi said here on Saturday that women should get rid of their inferiority complex and participate in nation-building activities.

‘Take work seriously’

Speaking at a function organised to distribute certificates to people being trained in making readymade garments by the District Industrial Education and Training Centre. Ms. Arunadevi said that the trainees should take up their work seriously and involve themselves in all activities during the training period.

She said that there were ample job opportunities particularly for women in the readymade garment factories. She said some of them would be started in Shimoga shortly.

According to her, besides taking care of their families, women should contribute to nation-building activities.

Ms. Arunadevi asked the trainees to make proper use of the training in vocational and job oriented courses so that they could improve their living standards.

The President of the District Industries Association K.S. Anantharamaih who presided over the function said that nearly 4,000 people had received training in readymade garments from the centre of whom 800 were employed in the garment factories in Bangalore.

He said that the readymade garment factories would get a big boost with the establishment of the proposed textile park in Shimoga.
