Congress flayed for ignoring trade union wing

HYDERABAD: Rajya Sabha member and president of Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC) G. Sanjeeva Reddy on Saturday created a flutter when he faulted his own party (Congress) for ignoring the trade union wing.

“Congress, our parent party, is using our services but leaving us in lurch,” Mr. Sanjeeva Reddy said adding that many of the INTUC leaders, who had aspired for party ticket during the recent elections in the country, were disappointed. He went to the extent of telling the delegates at the quadrennial State-level conference of INTUC here on Saturday that there was clear lack of coordination between the trade union body and the party. He wanted the central leadership to constitute a coordination panel to look into the problems of the trade union wing.
