Solatium given

A sum of Rs two lakh was handed over as solatium to S. P. Mani, a resident of Bethaniapuram, by the Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers, M. K. Azhagiri, on Friday. According to a release, the amount was sanctioned by Collector N. Mathivanan on a memorandum submitted by Mr. Mani seeking financial assistance, following the death of his two sons in a fire accident on June 29.
