Priyank shines

HYDERABAD: S. Priyank of Abhyasa Residential School won the individual championship in swimming for the senior boys even as his school clinched honours winning 18 gold, 21 silver and 14 bronze medals in the AP Regional ICSE & ISC inter-schools sports meet organised by Hyderabad Public School (Begumpet) here.

In swimming alone, the school bagged 17 gold, 11 silver and nine bronze medals even as the team predictably won the overall championship in senior boys’ category.

Mr. A. K. Parida, Principal Secretary to State Government, Y & AT, gave away the prizes.

The following athletes were selected to represent the State in the Nationals to be held in Bangalore: Swimming: S. Appoorwa, S. Yugandhara, Ch. Suchitra Krishnamurthy, S. Priyank, M. Vishwateja, M. Rahul, G. Darshan, H. Vivek Nair, Aditya Pitta and K. Pushpa. Basketball: M. Dipin, Ch. Manohar and B. Anusha.
