Southern Rly. women win
Coimbatore: Southern Railway women from Chennai scored a hard-fought 57-52 win over Chhattisgarh and won the all India basketball tournament for the CRI Pumps Trophy at the PSG College of Technology here on Sunday.
Earlier, MCtM (Chennai) brushed aside the challenge of Kamala Subramaniyam (Thanjavur) 69-64 in the final of the State-level tournament for schoolboys.
The results (final): Women: Southern Railway (Chennai) 57 (Stephi 19) bt Chhattisgarh 52 (Bhartis Letam 15).
State-level for schoolboys: MCtM (Chennai) 69 bt Kamala Subramaniyam (Thanjavur) 64.
