Attractive saris up for grabs at exhibition
BANGALORE: A new range of designer saris embroidered with stone work and an attractive Onam collection are up for grabs at the Co-optex exhibition organised here on the occasion of Onam.
The 10-day exhibition, which was inaugurated on Monday by Prafulata Bhardwaj, wife of Governor H.R. Bhardwaj, has been organised to mark the platinum jubilee year of Co-optex.
Among those exhibited include well-designed light weight saris, Kancheevaram, Arni and Salem hand-woven saris. In addition to these, the Co-optex store on Kamaraj Road also offers a wide range of furnishings. Apart from the new collection of saris, the store sells a wide range of traditional Kancheevaram saris, cotton saris, polyester saris and readymade cotton chudidars. A 20 per cent discount has been announced on the entire stock.
Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Bhardwaj confessed to being a fan of the saris and other furnishings that the organisation produces. “The colourful combination of borders and the contrast of the saris make them really attractive. The organisation also provides employment to thousands of poor weavers, which was a very noble initiative,” she added.
Regional Manager of Co-optex, K. Moorthi, said: “Apart from being a celebration for our platinum jubilee year, this sale is being held to reach a few targets that the organisation has set.”
