State to provide Rs. 15 subsidy on every litre of diesel to farmers

PUDUKOTTAI: The Government will provide a subsidy of Rs.15 per litre for diesel used by the farmers for their pumpsets for carrying out paddy cultivation during the period from July 15 to September 30 following the failure of monsoon in the district.

Collector A.Suganthi said here on Friday that the subsidy would be Rs.1,000 per hectare with a ceiling of Rs.2,000 and appealed to the eligible farmers to submit applications to the respective village administrative officers (VAOs) along with the receipts from the purchase of diesel which would be scrutinised by the officials of the Agricultural engineering department for grant of subsidy to the farmers.
