Action please: A damaged electric post on M.M. Nagar main road, near SIPCOT Housing Board water tank, in Hosur.
HOSUR: Electric posts that are damaged are posing threat to the public at many places in Mookandapalli Panchayat, near Hosur, says J. Angela Mary, District Secretary, All India Democratic Women’s Association (AIDWA), and also the Councillor of Ward no: 2.
Complaints
“We preferred two complaints with the SIPCOT TNEB office to replace such electric posts in the panchayat,” she said.
While one electric post in Annai Satya Nagar on Last Cross Road was given wooden reaper support by the local people, another post was replaced by the authorities a month ago.
When asked about the other posts, they demanded a request letter with the signatures of at least 100 people, Ms. Angela said.
One more post with 25 power connections in Vijay Nagar in the panchayat was almost bent, the Councillor added.
Two electric posts, which were in bad condition in the nearby Bharathi Nagar, were replaced by the EB authorities six months ago.
Agitation
“If the authorities do not replace the badly-damaged electric posts in the panchayat, AIDWA with the support of the local people will launch an agitation,” Ms. Angela said.
