Jai and Nanao advance

New Delhi: Asian championship silver medallist Jai Bhagwan defeated Eric Donovan of Ireland in a 60-kg second round bout to advance to the pre-quarterfinals of the World boxing championship in Milan on Friday.

World youth champion T. Nanao Singh thrashed Mamishzade Elvin of Azerbaijan 21-6 to become the second Indian to move into the second round at the championship.

Meanwhile, in the 81-kg category, the fourth-seeded Dinesh Kumar got a first round bye.
