DEHRA DUN: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank reviewed the Kumbh Mela preparations in Hardwar over the weekend. He visited the Kankhal area and was shocked to see the shabby conditions of the several roads claimed to have been built as per ‘A’ Class standards. He suspended three executive engineers and sought clarifications from two nodal officers. Residents of Hardwar have been suffering a great deal because of innumerable potholes and water-logging on roads dug up months ago in the name of modernisation for the Maha Kumbh due next year. Local residents raised slogans against negligent and corrupt officials and asked the Chief Minister how they could carry on with their daily routine on roads that had been dug up and left unfinished for well over six months now. Mr. Nishank also drove to the Hill Bypass Road and discovered that the path which was once a bustling road had not been repaired for over nine years.
