HUBLI: An all-round show by Zeeshan Sayed (87 not out and two for 28) helped Belgaum District to defeat Hubli City by six wickets in the KSCA under-19 inter-district league match played at Karnataka Gymkhana Ground in Hubli on Monday. The scores: Hubli City 195 in 49.3 overs (Aditya Patil 72, Shishir Bhavani 39, Sachin Shinde three for 28) lost to Belgaum District 198 for 4 in 35.5 overs (Zeeshan Sayed 87 n.o., Nilesh Patil 44). Easy for ChaitraChaitra School defeated Ramalingeshwar School by eight wickets, while Lamington School beat Anglo Urdu School by two wickets in the KSCA under-16 cricket tournament which began in Hubli on Monday. The scores: Ramalingeshwar School 71 in 20.5 overs (Jaffar Ramadurg five for 15) lost to Chaitra School 72 for 2 in 12.4 overs. Anglo Urdu School 74 in 20 overs (Pavan Haliyal four for 14, Mahesh Patel three for 20) lost to Lamington School 79 for 8 in 20.1 overs (Zuber Yadwad four for 19). Sachin bowls wellSachin’s five-wicket haul set up Bishop Cotton Boy’s School’s eight-wicket victory over AV Education Society in a Boost Cup under-16 tournament match here recently. Dennis dazzlesDennis scored four goals to power Income Tax to a 5-0 victory over Bentex in a ‘C’ division football league match here on Monday. Dennis scored in the 6th, 7th, 29th and 39th minutes while Nitya scored in the 10th minute to complete the tally. Meanwhile, Vehicles FC topped the Group ‘F’ and entered the knock-out stage. IWAS World GamesThe International Wheelchair and Amputees Sports Federation in association with the Paralympics Committee of India will conduct the IWAS World Games in Bangalore from November.22 to December.2. Announcing this at the media meet here on Monday, Mr. Goolihatti D. Shekar, the State Minister for Sports and Youth Services, said that the State Government would offer necessary assistance to the organisers. There will 10 disciplines in the IWAS Games and 1,000 physically-challenged athletes from 62 countries are expected to take part in the event.
