Udhagamandalam: The celebration of the Nilgiri Mountain Railway (NMR) Day this year will be marked by a Heritage Run, according to the Public Relations Officer, Southern Railway Salem Division, D. Omprakash. Stating that the heritage run by a steam train would take place on September 15, he said that it will be exclusively for special and physically-challenged children. Pointing out that it is being organised with the help of the District Disabled Rehabilitation Office, he said that around 40 children will be on the train which would run between Coonoor and Ooty. Many of them will be travelling by the NMR for the first time. A one-day heritage exhibition here would form part of the occasion.
