Kochi: The Kerala State Legal Services Authority (KELSA) on Tuesday thrashed out a settlement in a case filed by Ursula Alice Perino, a German woman who was allegedly cheated of 50,000 Euros by Jobin K. Joseph of Palluruthy. Ms. Perino, who landed in the country in 2007, gave Mr. Joseph 50,000 Euros equivalent to Rs. 28 lakh, for starting a joint venture project. However, the project did not take off but he refused to return the money. So, she lodged a criminal case against Mr. Joseph with the police. After many rounds of negotiations conducted through mediators, which included the KELSA Secretary, P. Mohanadas, Mr. Joseph agreed to return Rs.18 lakh to her.
