Heavy flow into Mettur dam

CHENNAI: Realisation at the Stanley Reservoir (Mettur) increased substantially on Tuesday because of heavy release of water from Karnataka reservoirs. The inflow into Mettur was 30,785 cusecs on Tuesday as against about 15,000 cusecs on Monday.

About 15,000 cusecs of water is being released for delta irrigation. The inflow which was of the order of about 8,000 cusecs during the last week of August increased to 10,000 cusecs in the first week of this month, which improved to 30,000 cusecs on Tuesday.
