British award for principal School notes

Fr. Santhosh Mundanmani, CMI, principal of the CMI Public School, Chalakudy, has been honoured with the ‘The Award for Pioneer Implementation of the Active Classroom’ by the London-based Promethean Company. The award comes as recognition for his innovative and entrepreneurial vision. Teachers of the school have been utilising the Active Boards as part of interactive learning for the past one year.

Charles Clarke, British Parliamentarian and former Education Minister and Home Secretary of U.K., handed over the award at the eIndia 2009, an international exhibition and seminar organised by the Union government in Hyderabad on August 26. Dignitaries from India and abroad attended the ceremony.

Admissions

Application forms for admission to kindergarten classes in Christu Jayanthi Public School for the academic year 2010-11 will be available from September 14 to 18 from the kindergarten office of the school at Rajagiri Valley, Kakkanad.

Spiritual seminar

A spiritual seminar named “Thapsya” presented by a group of Bal Vikas children based in the UAE and hailing from Ernakulam and Thrissur districts was conducted at the TDM Hall on August 22. The seminar was dedicated to the memory of the late Prof. Mundiath Krishnankutty Menon. The theme of the seminar was “austerities in action and wisdom” based on the third and fourth chapters of the Bhagavad Gita. L.K. Krishnankutty, president, Ernakulam Karayogam and Lalitha Prasad, prinicipal, Sri Sadh Vidya Vihar, Aluva, were the chief guests. Smitha Warrier welcomed the gathering and introduced the Bal Vikas group. The seminar was conducted by Shruthi Raghu and Sethulakshmi Premkumar.
