Traffic blocked

SALEM: Over 200 residents of various colonies in Ward 9 blocked the traffic on the Ponnammapet road here on Friday protesting against the erratic supply of drinking water. They claimed that the Salem Corporation was providing water supply once in 10 days. A large number of residents in the ward were facing difficulties due to shortage in the water supply. Officials were not taking any action to sort out the problem, they claimed. Police personnel rushed to the spot and pacified the residents.
