Telugu short story collection released

BERHAMPUR: A Telugu short story collection ‘Emmesvee Kathalu-2’ was released at function in the city on Sunday.

The book was written by M.S.V. Gangaraju of Berhampur. Officials of Sriraj Publications of Hyderabad, who published the book, said it was an effort to mark the centenary celebration of Telugu short story.

Noted writer and cine artiste Gollapudi Maruthi Rao, who was the chief guest, released the book.

Mr. Rao said that efforts of Mr. Gangaraju should be commended, as it was an endeavour to keep alive a mother tongue among people living outside its linguistic area.

Attending the function as a guest, Assistant General Manager of Andhra Bank T. Venkayya said it was the duty of all to keep alive the rich literary tradition of Indian languages among the younger generation.

Mr. Gangaraju retired as bank employee and gave his full efforts to literary activities since then.

He has a novel, a drama and an anthology of verse to his credit. Recently, he translated an Oriya short story collection of Binapani Mohanty into Telugu.
