KOCHI: CPI (M) State Secretary Pinarayi Vijayan has lauded the ‘professional’ way in which Kerala Police arrested goons who were wanted in connection with the murder of Paul M. George. A few of them had to surrender in Tamil Nadu because of the pressure built by the Kerala Police. It must not be forgotten that the police play a crucial role in maintaining peace. They function well when given a free hand, he said, after inaugurating M R Vidyadharan Memorial Building – the South Paravur local committee office of the party. He said that it is the UDF that is protecting criminals. A few of its leaders even had financial dealings with some of the goons who are now in the limelight. The CPI (M) local committee secretary P. K. Raju too was present.
