Subair sparkles

Coimbatore: A.A. Subair struck a fine 89 in Red Diamond Cricket Club’s eight-wicket win over Best VP XI in the TNCA-CDCA second division league for the Unidrive Line Trophy at the SNR Sons College grounds here on Sunday.

The scores: Second division: Best VP XI 181 for eight in 50 overs (Nandakumar 33) lost to Red Diamonds CC 182 for eight in 28.2 overs (A.A. Subair 89, C. Santosh 33); Friends RC 183 in 46 overs (R. Saravanan 49, Thulasi Das three for 34, Rajaram three for 22) bt Suryabala CC 179 in 41.2 overs (Hasif 70, Damodaran three for 27).

Third division: ABT CC 150 in 32 overs (Kalingaraj 30, Arumugam three for 30, Rangaraj three for 34) lost to SIM CC 151 for six in 43.4 overs (Rajadurai 38).

CDFA trials

The Coimbatore District Football Association will conduct selection trials for its sub-junior team at the Nehru Stadium on September 19 and 20 from 7 a.m. Players born on or after January 1, 1995 are eligible for participation.
