Udhagamandalam: A helpline has been provided for ensuring effective implementation of the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS) in the Nilgiris. Stating this in a press note issued here, Nilgiris Collector Anandrao V. Patil said that it was in compliance with a recent directive of Deputy Chief Minister M.K. Stalin to install a free helpline service to enable the beneficiaries of the NREGS to bring their grievances, if any, to the notice of higher officials. The telephone number of the helpline at the office of the District Rural Development Agency is 0423-2449499.
