MANGALORE: A four-day industrial exhibition, “Made in Coimbatore”, to help develop marketing infrastructure for the goods manufactured at Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, will be held at the TMA Pai International Convention Centre on Mahatma Gandhi Road here from November 6. N.S. Kumar, chairman, Made in Coimbatore Industrial Expo 2009, told presspersons here on Monday that 200 industries from Coimbatore would set up stalls at the venue. In addition, 150 industries from Karnataka would display their products. In Coimbatore there were about 50,000 micro and small industries. Seven seminars would be organised during the exhibition. Of them, three were aimed at motivating budding entrepreneurs and the rest would be for established entrepreneurs, he said. The exhibition would showcase some of the machines which were not being manufactured in Mangalore. They included paper bag and paper cup manufacturing equipment, those producing welding machines, cooling towers, and pumpsets. The Entrepreneurs’ Club, Coimbatore, and the Coimbatore North Small Industries Association would jointly organise the exhibition, in association with the Kanara Small Industries Association (KSIA), Mangalore. K. Jayaraj Pai, president, KSIA, said an Entrepreneurs’ Club would be formed in Mangalore on Tuesday.
