Two held for theft on train
Staff Reporter
BANGALORE: They travelled in AC coaches and got on famously with their co-passengers. However, when the latter were asleep, they used fake keys to pilfer valuables, particularly jewellery, from their luggage. The Karnataka State Railway police have arrested Amar and Rajan Kumar of Uttar Pradesh after they allegedly stole 250 gm of gold belonging to software engineer Kannan and 500 gm of gold from Satyanarayana, a bank employee from Bellary.
The accused had travelled with their victims on the Bangalore-Hubli Hampi Express. “The victims discovered the loss only after reaching home,” said Deputy Inspector-General of Police (Railways) Ramesh Harihar.
