‘Implement Ramiah Committee report’

BANGALORE: The former chairman of the Karnataka Media Academy K. Sridhar Achar has urged the State Government to implement the recommendations of the P. Ramiah Committee on the functioning of small and medium newspapers. Releasing the 10th-year special edition of “Karnataka Vaibhava”, a Kannada monthly, here on Monday, Mr. Achar said several small papers were struggling to survive owing to lack of advertisement support. The Government should announce a liberal advertisement policy for the benefit of small newspapers. The Editor of the monthly, A.V. Borashetty, was present.
