TIRUCHI: The momentum generated by the performance of Padha Bhushan Kalaimamani Kadhri Gopalanath, and the pyrotechnic display continued for the remaining part of the Festember ’09, at the National Institute of Technology - Tiruchi.

The classical music competition showcased the multitudes of talent from all over the country on Friday, and the day ended with the eagerly anticipated Choreo-Nite, featuring a competition of the top order. The dance performances in between by the host team added shine to the event in no small measure.

Marrybrown, Java Green, Pizza Corner, Femina Shopping Mall, Nestle... There was no dearth of stall for refreshment.

El Casa, the lounge was where participants thronged to relax after a hard day’s play.

It offered space not just to stretch their feet, but to unwind with Ping Pong, Darts, Foosball, etc.

Saturday was equally impressive. The Institute was the haunt for music lovers of all types.

While the morning witnessed Gig-A-Hertz, the hard rock competition with growls and screaming fans, the evening was devoted to Tarangini, the light music competition that usually attracts many participants and viewers as well.

The competition was judged by the playback singer Haricharan. The hosts put up an impressive performance.

Festember also prided itself of ‘Pattimandram’, judged by noted Tamil public speaker Bharathi Bhaskar.

An entertaining performance by comic artiste Sivakarthikeyan left the crowd in splits.

The archery, dance, independent film making, hypnotism, theatre, cartoon-making workshops all witnessed mass turn-out.

The publicity team left no stone unturned to ensure a record participation this year for the confluence of culture, arts and fun.
