An interactive platform for poets

Staff Reporter

Bangalore: Nayana auditorium at Kannada Bhavan here turned out to be an interactive platform for poets of different languages on Monday.

Those from the literary world who arrived in the city from across the country to participate in the Sahitya Akademi’s two-day poetry and short-story reading programme — Abhivyakti — were curious to know and learn other languages.

Hindi and English became link-languages for these linguistic poets to exchange their views and expressions with each other.

In an attempt to make the participants understand the poems of other languages, the Akademi had adopted a formula.

Each poet was asked to recite two or three poems and of these, one was in their regional language. The poets had to translate it either in English or Hindi.
