VISAKHAPATNAM: Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited Chairman and Managing Director P.K. Bishnoi on Monday launched the implementation of Enterprise Resource Planning aptly termed as ‘Ukku Sankalp’ (steely resolve) in Visakhapatnam Steel Plant. ERP signifies single transaction database that is shared, updated and drawn upon by entire organisation. This gives seamless integration and improves internal efficiencies within the organisation. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Bishnoi complimented the ERP team and also cautioned that ERP was not a magical solution for problems. He expressed confidence that ERP implementation in VSP would a big success setting standards in business initiatives. The success of ERP depended on the contribution that the potential users would make, he said Wipro, HP, Tulip and PWC are associated with RINL’s ERP project. Senior officials of VSP, union leaders, representatives of Steel Executive’ Association and others were present.
