TUTICORIN: Around 60 members of the All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) observed a one-day fast in front of the Gandhi statue near the first railway gate here on Tuesday. They staged the protest against rise in price of essential commodities and anti-labour policies of the government. It was led by K. Tamilarasan, district secretary. Balasingam, secretary, Taluk Traders’ Union Council and R. Pandi, president, participated in the demonstration.
