YSR loyalists flay Keshava Rao

HYDERABAD: Supporters of YSR are up in arms against Congress Working Committee member K. Keshava Rao’s remarks on the anointment of Kadapa MP Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy as the Chief Minister, describing them as “uncalled for”. The pro-Jagan group advised him against making provocative remarks. The comments of Dr. Rao, at a time when all the leaders and cadre fell in line with the high command’s instructions, were like “rubbing salt into the wounds which are yet to heal”. “They are unwarranted and hurting the sentiments of the party rank and file,” APCC general secretary Ambati Rambabu said. He said the leadership had instructed the leaders to maintain restraint and the same was applicable to Dr. Rao. Mr. Rambabu found fault with him for posturing as a “messenger” of the high command and said he should not try to impose his views as the views of the high command.

As his remarks generated controversy, Dr. Rao was quick to acknowledge the feelings of the pro-Jagan camp claiming “what they said is absolutely right and I have no dispute with their remarks”.
