Monisha outplayed Bulbul 21-8, 21-2 Ruth Misha made the grade beating S. Kumudakumari Krishna advanced to the quarterfinals BANGALORE: Top seeded Monisha Vinayak advanced to the women’s singles semifinals of the first Five Star State-ranking badminton tournament at the Gurukul Academy on Tuesday. Monisha outplayed Bulbul 21-8, 21-2 while Ruth Misha made the grade beating S. Kumudakumari 21-5, 21-5. Jacqueline R. Kunnath and Soumya Padhye had made the grade on Monday after gaining walkovers. S.D.S. Krishna, the top seed in men’s ranking, advanced to the quarterfinals overcoming a defiant Amit Kumar 21-16, 21-19. The results: Men’s: Singles: Pre-quarterfinals: S.D.S.
