‘Stop destruction of park’

Special Correspondent

BANGALORE: Former Legislative Council Chairman B.K. Chandrashekhar on Wednesday took exception to the Metro rail work which had destroyed a large portion of Laxman Rau Park in Jayanagar. Speaking to presspersons on the need for evolving a climate action plan for the State, Prof. Chandrashekhar said a large number of trees were being felled as there were plans to accommodate two stations within a distance of 2 km.

It was possible to prevent destruction of such green cover by settling for only one station, he said.
