THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The 15th edition of the Dubai shopping festival will have an exclusive section that will facilitate to showcase the ethnic products of Kerala. Promoters of the Kerala section Brij Bhalla and Nissar Syed said on Thursday that a Global Village would be set up as part of the festival from November 22 and the India Pavilion, which would be one of the main attractions of the festival, would have an exclusive Kerala section that would have handicrafts and artwork, traditional and modern furniture, garments, home appliances, jewellery, fashion accessories, gems, footwear, leather goods and food items among others. It has been proposed to set up 50 stalls in the section. Depending on the demand, the number of stalls will be increased. Builders and companies making ethnic food items in Kerala have evinced interest in setting up stalls. The Global Village will be functional from November 22 to February 27, 2010, at the Dubai Land area. Cultural programmes, road shows conducted by Radio Asia, will be some of the highlights.
