Lucknow: In a major relief to the BPL consumers, the Uttar Pradesh State Electricity Regulatory commission (UPSERC) has exempted them from security deposits, system loading charges and reduced processing fees amount from Rs.50 to Rs.10. “As per the decision taken on Thursday at a meeting, BPL urban consumers will have to pay Rs.1310 in place of Rs.1800 for one KW connection. Rural consumers would have to shell out Rs.560 in place of Rs.1050,” SERC Secretary Arun Kumar said.
