Burglary in Patel Nagar
Staff Reporter
NEW DELHI: Burglars struck at a house in Patel Nagar here on Thursday and allegedly made off with cash, gold and diamond jewellery worth over Rs.55 lakh.
The incident came to light when Sudhir Giri’s wife Babita returned home in the afternoon and found the house ransacked. She informed her husband and the matter was reported to the police.
“The Giris run two schools in the city. One of the schools, St. Giri International School, in the neighbourhood is managed by Sudhir Giri. His wife oversees the administration of another school in Chanakyapuri. As per their statement, both were in their schools when the burglary struck,” a police officer said.
