High command sees “black-mailing” “Wrong signals being sent to the leadership” NEW DELHI: The Congress high command is considering the option of even asking Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister K. Rosaiah to reshuffle the present Cabinet if some Ministers continued their non-cooperation attitude thus paralysing the smooth functioning of the State administration. Sources said the decision on the demand for anointing late Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy’s son Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy as Chief Minister should be decided by the party leadership, particularly party president Sonia Gandhi, and no one should try to have their way by blackmailing or threatening the higher-ups. “They should not send wrong signals” to the leadership. By continuing their demand in a forceful way, the loyalists of Mr. Jagan are only spoiling his chances of getting into the Union Cabinet as a Minister of State which was thought of initially, immediately after the former Chief Minister’s death. There were even attempts to break the Congress Legislature Party to pave way for Mr. Jagan which had disturbed some leaders. Rosaiah’s appointmentA senior leader, close to the inner ring of the leadership, added that Mr. Rosaiah was not made Chief Minister just like that. The Union Cabinet secretary, Attorney General and State Advocate General were properly consulted. Meanwhile, Congress Working Committee member and former APCC president K. Keshava Rao told journalists here on Saturday that he would have been happy if Mr. Jagan had spoken about the Congress and Ms. Gandhi during his speech in the meeting held in memory of his father at Atmakur in Kurnool district on Friday.
