Thousands visit Thirukollikadu

TIRUVARUR: Thousands of people thronged Sri Agniswarar temple, where a “Pongusaneeswarar” sannidhi is located at Thirukollikadu in Tiruvarur district and offered their prayers to Pongusaneeswarar on Saturday in view of Sani Peyarchi.

The Sani Peyarchi sees the transit of Sani Bhagawan from Simha Rasi to Kanni Rasi.

Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation operated special buses and elaborate bandobust arrangements were made by the police.

An ‘Ekadina Laksharchana’ would be held at the temple on October 3 and Lakhsmi Kubera puja on October 17.

People also visited Sri Vasishteswaraswamy Temple at Thittai near Thanjavur where special pujas were offered to Sani Bhagawan and other Navagraha kshetras like Sri Apathsahayeswaraswamy Temple (Guru kshetra) at Alankudi in Tiruvarur district, Raghu Temple at Thirunageswaram, Suryanarkoil near Kumbakonam and Thingalur near Thiruvaiyaru in Thanjavur district.
