Held for fraud
Special Correspondent
TAMBARAM: The Nandambakkam police on Friday arrested a 32-year-old man on charges of cheating two men of Rs.2.5 lakh.
A press release from Chennai Suburban Police Commissioner S.R. Jangid stated that S. Vishwakumar (54) and Ramesh Kumar (35) had approached K. Ayyappan of Adhi Nagar, East Tambaram, through an acquaintance, who had told them that Ayyappan could help in getting visa and related travel documents.
Vishwakumar and Ramesh Kumar paid Rs.1.25 lakh each as advance earlier this month. Ayyappan kept dodging the two men and refused to meet them.
He could not be contacted after a while, following which the two men lodged a police complaint.
