Part of a hidden agenda to promote the Gujarat model: Ugrappa

Special Correspondent

Bangalore: Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council V.S. Ugrappa has criticised Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa for organising a training workshop for Ministers in Mysore and said it smacked of irresponsibility on the part of the BJP Government to stay away from office at a time when the people are facing serious problems. All Ministers in the Yeddyurappa Cabinet have been in Mysore from Tuesday to participate in a three-day workshop, which was inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Gujarat Narendra Modi.

Mr. Ugrappa said that the services of Mr. Modi had been enlisted as the BJP Government here was keen on propagating the “Gujarat model” of governance.

“It is part of the hidden agenda of the RSS to spread the Gujarat model to all the BJP-ruled States. Rather than ensuring communal harmony in a peace-loving State like Karnataka, the BJP is working at spreading hatred among the people.”

He said organising a training workshop for Ministers should be construed as a confession by the Chief Minister that “the Ministry is inexperienced in working to the expectations of the people.” Mr. Ugrappa said the absence of Ministers was a reflection of their dedication more so when nearly 4,000 government doctors are on a strike path.

The A(H1N1) virus is now spreading across the State and neither the Chief Minister nor the Health Minister had commenced a dialogue with the striking doctors, he said.
