CPI (M) MLA among 200 held

VILLUPURAM: Police on Wednesday arrested over 200 persons, including Gudiyatham MLA G. Latha of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and Tamil Nadu Vivasayigal Sangam general secretary K. Balakrishnan, when they attempted to enter the Draupadi Amman temple at Kangeyanur near Thirukkoilur.

As the protestors stayed put for over an hour, the police resorted to lathi charge. — Special Correspondent
